Broad Institute's Candida Database

The Broad Institute was founded in 2003 and launched in 2004 through the extraordinary generosity and remarkable vision of Los Angeles-based philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad. As part of the Fungal Genome Initiative, we have sequenced and annotated five Candida species. Candida species are the most common human fungal pathogens. Candida cause severe systemic disease in individuals who are immunocompromised, post-surgery, or taking broad-spectrum antibiotics.
